Ginza Tokyo district
Ginza District is Tokyo’s most glamorous and expensive shopping district. It has a rich history as it was built on the site of a silver coin mint dating back to Edo era (1603-1868).
The business of minting silver coins was very lucrative and the name Ginza remained even after the mint was moved. Ginza represents modern Japan while it remains historical elements expressed in art, cuisine, fashion and its street scene.
